My theoretical approach is strength-based and humanistic, and originates in family systems theory. In therapy, we will join together to get a better understanding of how your environment and family relationships impact you in other areas of your life.
I believe that increased self-awareness will be a benefit of therapy, but also that transformation occurs through active pursuit of change. I will support you in freeing yourself of negative beliefs and behavior patterns that are not working for you. You have the power to transform your life and improve important relationships by purposefully using insights you glean from our work together. At times a meaningful part of your therapy will be practicing new skills, and I may suggest readings or homework to enhance your learning. Always, I welcome your feedback on how therapy is progressing in our work together.
